Calling Out...Around The World...Are You Ready?

So, are you ready, Willie, for the repercussions of your recent remarks about Shea Stadium and Mets fans? In case you just crawled out from under a rock, it's been said here much better than I, you, and the entire Mets nation probably ever could.

Are you ready, Willie?

You fucking pussy.... you big, huge, fucking pussy.

I nominate you for the Big Pussy Pick of the Week.

In the immortal words of my buddy, Coop... that is all.

OK I can do Willie - I was going to go with Oh Pea, but he can wait. I'm sure he'll do something pussy-worthy between now and the end of the season

It was just a nomination, Coop... you can do whomever you please... Ollie or Willie, or BOTH! Shit, woman, they both deserve it.

I mean, can you believe the gall of this guy? He's not only out of touch with the pitchers (did you read my other post from this morning?), he's out of touch with the fans, and probably can't even touch himself.... hee hee hee.

I did read it and I agree. I like how Maine and Johan are both kinda laying down the law with him like - no, we're not coming out till we're good and ready. Earn that moolah, Jo-jo!!! LOL

And where, may I ask, is The Jacket's place in all this? I forgot to include one other funny thing in the post below, about how Tom Glavine said guys would be in the bullpen throwing and trying to get right, and The Jacket would sidle over and say shit like "hey, take a look at that butterfly over there, just think, a week ago, it was a caterpillar."

Zen schmen, Jacket, Whack-it!

LMAO!! We need to get Mazzone out of retirement - did you also hear that RP has a gag order? I know Corey talked about it, don't remember if I read it here tho'

I loved that interview this morning, even though I rarely listen to those buffoons on WFAN!!!

Yeah, GREAT advice Rick... Watch the purty butterflies!!!

Willie's got about 3 weeks in my book to get this turned around...

Deb said...

I heard that the gag was on us, that there wasn't a gag order, then there was, then, oh, I don't know.

And what's the fucking difference, The Jacket doesn't really talk to the press anyway!!!

What a fucking joke this team and organization is turning out to be. We should have known they had no clue by that stupid email they sent to the season ticket holders after The Collapse last year, and their immediate defense of Willie and Omar.

They really underestimated the anger and tenor and tone of the fans, didn't they?

Deb said...

Hey, ding dong.

Methinks you're right... about Cashman (see other post) and about Willie.

Although I think the Mets organization might give Willie a lot more rope than we think, if only to spite the fans and if only to try to prove they were right, as if by some miracle somebody like Willie Boy could ever turn this team around.....

Sad part is, there's no real leader on this team, and it's really starting to show. And since there's no clubhouse leader, and obviously Willie ain't no leader, we got a bunch of leaderless multimillionaire kids running the show.

See what happens? It really is almost funny... in fact, we ought to have some fun with this, it beats the hell out of watching this team play.

Speaking of which, did any of you see that ridiculous pre-game show on SNY last night, where they talked about the Mets having turned the corner? Yeah, the only corner they turned takes them right back onto the street they were on before.

DO THEY THINK WE'RE FUCKING MORONS, OR SOMETHING????

DINGOMETS said...

They're trying to stay optimistic on SNY, and I can't give them TOO much grief over that...

I do agree that the clubhouse situation sucks right now, and there is no discernable leadership in there...

Other than the pussy who was "bored" last year???

Yeah, GREAT leadership there Shirley!!! Or, was he Laverne???? I forget!!!

Feinstein's interview (and I don't know how/why I caught it, since I rarely listen to those 2 no-talent assclowns on WFAN in the morning!!!) was enlightening, and some of the stories he shared about Glavine, and others, were fairly disturbing...

HEY WILLIE!!! 300 wins IS a big deal, ya dumbass!!!

Again, as for SNY, like any team-owned media outlet, they're going to be somewhat of a schill for the team that pays 'em, and I don't pay TOO much attention to that kind of stuff... I didn't actually hear it, since I passed out around 8:30 last night... But, that stuff doesn't bother me NEARLY as much as what happens ON the field...

Which is why Willie's comments over the years never really bothered me, as long as the team played well...

Now that the team has basically played .500 or so over the last year, THAT'S where my problem with Willie comes in.... What they're doing ON the field... Not what is being said off the field...

Deb said...

Agreed, ding dong. Agreed. :)

Talk about a disconnect... Willie and the pitchers, Willie and the team, Willie and The Jacket... Willie and the fans.... Little Willie Willie won't go home!

Get him the eff out of here, already. There's too many disconnects for me, and here's one more thing to chew on.

If a team is leaderless, it's the MANAGER'S JOB to lead it.

End of fucking story.

You fucking pussy, Willie. hee hee hee :)

DINGOMETS said...

Agreed, and that's the biggest shortcoming of the team right now...

I think there is also a disconnect between the Latino players and non-Latino players...

I think Feinstein's comment about how Glavine didn't feel it appropriate to speak to Reyes about his dancing was interesting, though again, that MAY have been more because Glavine was a pitcher, not an everyday player (though, that never stopped Wagner from speaking HIS mind!!!)...

And, I found it somewhat disturbing to hear that the only player who called for a team meeting last September was Marlon Anderson???

MARLON ANDERSON??? WHAT THE FUCK!!!

We have tons of veterans, but I don't think any of them are leaders... Delgado, being bored, sure as hell isn't...

Moses isn't... Glavine wasn't... Johan is new to the team... So is Castillo, and he's no leader... Beltran doesn't have the personality of a leader...

And, I think David Wright is too politically correct to be a leader, especially on a team as diverse as the Mets are...

See that's where I disagree Dingbat. I think this will be and can be DW's team now. I think the culture instilled in the clubhouse is that the vets rule, the young guys drool and that's about it. I think for now, yes, DW is a bit too PC b/c he doesn't want to piss the vets off and the vets that do get along with the young guys (like Delgado and Jose, for example) don't want to take him seriously. That said SOMETHING ANYTHING needs to done here.

Deb said...

I think I agree with both of you.

It COULD be DW's team, but imo, it's not going to be, and I don't think it even has a chance of being his until Delgado and maybe even some of the others leave. And that won't be for awhile. I don't think even the leaving of Delgado is going to make it DW's team, to be honest.

DINGOMETS said...

Coop,

I think it SHOULD be David's team, but I wonder if David has the balls to call out some of the veteran players, ESPECIALLY some of the veteran Latino players...

Or, when it comes to having a heart-to-heart talk with a guy like Reyes, does Wright kind of take a back seat to Delgado, a more veteran player, and a Latino that maybe Wright feels is better at communicating with Reyes?

I just sense a major lack of communication with this team, and don't think everybody is working on the same page, let alone the same freakin' book!!!

Examples:

1) Wagner calls out Perez, and the other pitchers in public... Willie blasts him, in public, for it...

2) Willie tells Reyes to tone down the dancing... Beltran tells Reyes to ignore that, and be himself...

Hell, I just don't know who's running the team right now... I have NO idea WHO the leaders are!!!

With the Phillies, it's obvious... Their emotional leader is Jimmy Rollins...

With the Braves, it's Larry Jones...

With the Yankees, it's Jeter...

On the Mets??? It's Marlon Anderson???? Are you kidding me????

Deb said...

Hey, on behalf of Marlon Anderson... I OBJECT! Hee hee hee :)

But you're right, dingy, you are so right. And I don't think DW is the type who is going to call out anyone nor wrest what should be someone else's job from them. He just ain't gonna do it, especially not with the current makeup of this team, which even with Delgado gone, isn't substantially going to change.

Cripes, guys... WE NEED A MESSAGE BOARD! LOL

Anonymous said...

instead of the Fire Willie Department, we should have a Marlon for President section.

DINGOMETS said...

I don't think this'll help you, but this thread got me motivated enough to start a similar one on the Mets board...

DINGOMETS said...

We've come to the conclusion that the leader of the Mets should be Carlos Beltran's mole!!!

Deb said...

Ding dong, be sure to direct those fine folks at mets.com over hyeah.... lol.

I'm soooooo late to this party, but I enjoyed reading through it! I cannot belieeeeeeeeeeve Willie had the nerve to say what he did -- I was speechless when I heard it on the FAN this morning!!! I've never been a Willie fan, and this does nothing to help his case. Does anyone want to take responsibility here?! Or is it always the fans' fault? He's the fucking leader of this team and HE has to step the hell up and turn things around.

And frankly, if I have to listen to him breathe that loudly through his nose in his interviews I'm going to smash my tv/radio -- what is up with that?! I'm sure it's a nervous thing, but I hate it and I'm sick of listening to it. Do you know what I'm talking about? When he closes his mouth and takes a deep breath through his nose -- it's loud and annoying but frankly everydamnthing he does these days is annoying. Argh.
