THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE METS WIN!!!!!

THE GOOD

Solid outing by Johan... Reyes on base 6 times.... Endy with a real nice game at the plate and in the field... Nice job by Schoeneweis to bail out Heilman... Ryan Church continues to be great at the plate!!

THE BAD

Probably the worst outing we've seen this year from Duaner... Johan only able to go 5 2/3 innings... Reyes with a LAZY error in the 9th that allowed the tying run to score... And, the team continues to suck noodles with RISP, going 1-10 (I believe) last night...

The Rangers lost.... AAAAAAAAAAAARRRGGGHHHH... Have I mentioned lately how much I hate the freakin' Penguins!!!!

THE METS WIN!!!!

YEAH DAVID!!!! WOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!

Thank God, ding dong! I was missing the GBU.....

Anyway, David Wright shows us why he is, well, David Wright. And Carlos Delgado continues to show us why he is... well... booed at Shea, lol.

And Heilman continues to make many of us scratch our heads at Willie's seeming devotion to him. Showcasing a bit, maybe?

It was pretty, but it was a win, and I'll take it.

And wtf is going on with the Rangers, ding dong? Are they THAT overmatched, or are they simply having a bad series and not executing?

Make up your mind on Johan. You've got him in the good and bad. I'd say 5 2/3 innings with 114 pitches ain't too good. Yeah, only giving up two hits, but too many pitches.

Actually Sanchez had a gutsy performance after the first two guys were on 2nd and 3rd. So I don't consider it a total bust for him.

Aaron "Dougie Sisk" Heilman at least is consistent. Consistently bad. Aaron, need to get some HGH or something.

Jose Jose Jose was responsible for Johan not getting the W with the big E in the 9th.

I think guys can be in the good and the bad, and even in the ugly, Gary.... yes, Johan wasn't stellar, but we sure seem to win most of the games he starts, although admittedly it is a small, teeny tiny sample, lol.

And he is traditionally a slow starter.

So while he's good, he also wasn't great yesterday, and I think putting him in both categories is somewhat appropriate.

So there :p!

I put Johan on both because when he was in, he was on his game, allowing just the two homers really...

But, it was also bad in that he didn't even last 6 innings...

Heilman's just gotta work through it... He needs his confidence back, because WHEN he is on his game, he is a VERY GOOD reliever for us, and a necessary piece to the bullpen...

David finally did come through, though he's still kind of mired in a bad slump... Hopefully last night will kick-start him out of it...

And we NEED David to be on top of his game, considering The Two Carloses have been consistently pretty lousy for us so far this year.

Maybe once the weather turns warm for good, all the bats will heat up. Although I don't look for any consistency from anyone in this offense except for D.W. and Alou, when he's healthy and on the field.

Not making excuses for the boys but it was chi-zill-y last night. I don't think anyone was prepared. Johan our "ace" was off all night and gave up his achilles heel, the HR. Duaner our "showstopper" gave up a run. And Wags our lights-out closer so far this year has a blown save. it sucked but it happened. I think the weather and coupled with the dampness in the air (I know, for instance, that Duaner's shoulder could not have been feeling well, arthritis and all) contributed to overall blahness play. Also, someone mentioned that Jo-jo typically has slow starts. Considering his record and ERA, I would say he can take as slow as he wants. Just as long as we have him alive in sept.

I really do think the weather has a lot to do with the type of play we see, and I think you are on the money with your chilly post, there, Coopie! :)

And like the blog subtitle says, 'they ain't pretty, sometimes, but they're ours!"
