THE GOOD... THE BAD... THE FUGLY....

THE GOOD
THE METS WIN!!!!

Figueroa looked fantastic again, really making just one bad pitch all night...

Bullpen was TERRIFIC... 6 scoreless innings, and now the team with the BEST bullpen ERA in the majors early on this year...

THE BAD

The Mets continue their tendency to make scrub starting pitchers like John Lannan look like Cy Young...

Continued inability to come up with big hits with RISP throughout the game...

THE UGLY

9-48 last night with 17 K's... Pretty horrific looking line in the box score for the Mets offense...

Ding Dong!

The game last night only points an accusing finger at the streakiness of this here offense. It's, well, it's downright offensive at times, and as I said, last night is the posterchild evening for that offensiveness. Of the offense. LOL

But I'm thrilled at the sweep, even if it is just the lowly Gnats. This, imo, is something the Mets failed to do last year, to not only CLOSE the door, but to SLAM IT SHUT IN THE F'G FACES OF THE OPPOSITION, especially those who share our division.

Niiiice!

Right...

It wasn't a pretty win... It was a win...

At the end of the year, I'll take an ugly win over a pretty loss!!!

All I did was upload the images, and then you can kinda re-arrange them once they're in the post...

I'm obviously having some issues here with Moe!!!

And a couple of other small things, but no biggie, we'll get it right yet. Maybe... sure we will...absolutely... perhaps... maybe not *giggle*, lol.

hi guys, site's looking good!

in the mets defense, i will say they have been pretty good at winning games against crappy pitchers so far. The thing about the Nats pitchers is that they are all mediocre but every once in a while they have that rare gem of a start. Last year, fortunately, most of those starts were against the Braves, but we were due for one, as long as they don't make a habit out of it!

I just think last night was a combination of a weaker Mets lineup against a guy that was having the game of his career...it happens...but we won anyway! :)

Yes, Stef, indeed we did - we won!!!

I'm hoping this is the start of a rash of good play and win accumulation. The offense is still way too streaky for my taste, but if Nelly Figg turns out to be the real deal, and Pelf continues the way he has, with the rest of the starting staff, we're in the pink, imo. :)

Thanks for coming over; I've linked your blog already!

And as a general plug for all the blogs we link - check 'em out! They're all great!

I agree with that, and I think people sometimes forget that these are all major-league pitchers, and once in a while, they'll get in a groove and find their great stuff...

I'd think the Nationals and Brewers are wondering how the heck they got shut down by a pitcher who hasn't been in the big leagues since 2004!!!
